Clitheroe Castle is an art enthusiast's heaven, boasting the
Steward's Gallery, Lancashire's first public labyrinth, a
community rose garden and a creative activity area housing a
Braille-friendly bronze plaque timeline. After you have worked
up an appetite exploring the castle's 16 acres of parkland, pop
into the Atrium Cafe, which features a unique floor mosaic
marking the site of the original castle well.
13 Clitheroe Castle Labyrinth
Accessible via Castlegate and Eshton Terrace entrances to the castle
Designed by land artist Jim Buchanan in collaboration with Ribble
Valley community groups and schools, the Clitheroe Castle
Labyrinth was constructed from grass and limestone on the site of
an old bowling green and is the first public labyrinth in Lancashire.
